Svenska Djurparksföreningen, SDF, bildades 1991 vid ett nordiskt möte med djurparker i Kristiansand, Norge. Ett 20-tal svenska (och en norsk) djurparker är medlemmar i SDF, som verkar för stränga kvalitetskrav för djurparkerna. SDF samarbetar för djurens bästa, skapar gemensamma etiska regler, sprider kunskap och har fokus inställt på bevara, skydda och vårda våra ofta hotade djur.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums is the "umbrella" organisation for the world zoo and aquarium community. Its members include leading zoos and aquariums, and regional and national Associations of Zoos and Aquariums, as well as some affiliate organisations, such as zoo veterinarians or zoo educators, from all around the world.
 

 

 

 

 

 

Promote co-operation for furthering wildlife conservation,
particulary through internationally coordinated breeding
programmes of wild animals such as the European
Endangered Species Programmes (EEP). Promote education, in particular environmental education. Promote regional collection planning activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Over 201 zoos and aquariums throughout North America have
met AZA's accreditation standards and are members of AZA.

Each AZA member is unique, from the five-acre zoo to the 322,000
square-foot aquarium to the 3,000-acre wildlife center.

 

 

 

CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered
Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is an international agreement
between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.

Från pol till pol, från atmosfärens högsta höjder till det djupaste hav,
från minsta insekt till största blåval. Överallt arbetar Världsnaturfonden med att försöka hjälpa till att lösa de problem som ständigt uppstår i vår natur. Det är ett arbete som bedrivs på många fronter. Flertalet projekt sker på plats ute i naturen, t ex högt i de svenska fjällen, djupt inne i Brasiliens djungler eller långt nere bland Filippinernas korallrev.

 

 

 

 

 

The objective of the Trust is to promote the survival of all parrot species and the welfare of individual birds. It pursues these aims by funding field conservation work, research projects and educational programmes. The Trust seeks to promote the concept of ‘responsible aviculture’ where the interests of the parrots themselves are given priority over commercial, olitical, career or other human concerns.
